Brazil... done.

Hey, we are currently at Foz Iguazu one the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls.

We got the night bus from Florianopolis to Foz Iguazu 2 days ago, Floripa was really nice, just beaches bars and restaurants. In our first day in Foz Iguazu we went to the nightime illumination of the Itaipu Dam (2nd Biggest in the world, Chinese one naturally is biggest) which was impressive.

Today we went to the Falls which looked incredible, hopefully got some alright photo´s although the lens kept getting misted up from the spray so don´t know. Looking forward to the argentinian side which has lots of bridges right over the falls and right next to the devils throat!

As well as the Falls we went to Parque das Aves (literally Bird  Park) which had all sorts of local species, so I took full advantage... so here you go Mr Beesley I have literally hundreds of photos of birdies for you!!

Paraty - Florianopolis

Paraty

Hi,

Everything is going good, since I last posted we have been from Paraty down the coast to a small village/town called Trinidade which is just beaches and restaurants. Unfortunately it rained quite a bit while we were there.

Trinidade

After Trinidade we went to Sao Paulo and stayed there for 2 night, it is bloody huge (3rd biggest city in the world). We went around some of the art museums, looked at some Cathedrals but to be honest its like a poor mans London, it was nice but I guess we are a bit spoiled when it comes to that sort of stuff.

Sao Paulo, Cathedral

The best thing we saw in SP was probably a street near to our hostel in Vila Madalena which is reserved for the ¨best¨ graffiti artists in Sao Paulo.

Graffiti, Sao Paulo

From Sp we got an overnight bus down to Florianopolis which is more beaches, surfing etc. We are here for another 2 nights then off to Iguazu Falls!

Rio - Paraty

Hola from Brazil,

Hey right basically thought this would be easier than emailing you each time and you can see some photos of where I have been. As I already told you we got to Rio fine and went up sugarloaf mountain and walked around Copacobana and Ipenema beaches. They following day we went up to Christ the Redeemer and then out in Lapa with some people from the hostel.

Halfway up Sugarloaf, Botofogo Behind

Cristo Redentor

After Rio we went to Ilha Grande, a Island south west of Rio without and cars on it and no cash machines. Stayed in the only town/village called Abraão. The weather was improved a lot (it had been cloudy in Rio, but still about 26 deg), did a couple walks to beaches, one was called Lopez Mendez, you can look it up.

Walk near Abraão

Stayed in Ilha Grande for 4 nights and we are now in Paraty, which is further west along the coast. Its an old town with a historic centre and ridiculously rough cobbled streets in parts. Walked around it today, seems really nice and a bit posh if anything.

Paraty, Cultural Centre

Staying here a couple nights then off to Trinadado for a couple. Keep you posted when I can.

Cheers Will x
