Buenos Aires-Ushuaia

Hi,

It has been a busy last week or so, with lots of long bus journey... as a result we are now in Ushuaia where it is snowing!
Ushuaia, walk to the Martial Glacier

We had a great time in Buenos Aires, saw quite a lot of the city, which is nice and you can get most places by either walking or getting the Subte (subway) then walking. On the last day we went to see the Chacarita Cemetary, sort of the normal persons cemetary compared to Recoleta (one in previous post). It was absolutely huge, had abou 20 massive underground bunkers basically with probably 30 maybe more of the corridors/streets like the one below.

After Buenos Aires we caught the bus down to Puerto Madryn, a nice short 18hrs. Puerto Madryn is a town next to Peninsula Valdes, which is a large wildlife reserve. We went around both the reserve itself a well as the surrounding area, including Punta Tombo which is the largest Magellanic Penguin breeding colony in the world.. We also rented bikes and went to see a nearby seal colony.

Jumping into Atlantic on our Bike ride.

You can really close, as they have to natural land predators so aren't scared.

After a few nights in Puerto Madryn we caught a very delayed and long journey down to Ushuaia, where we arrived yesterday/3am this morning. We have just been up to the Martial Glacier today, while it has been snowing. Very cold and a bit of a shock compared to Puerto Madryn where it was a reasonable 25-30 degrees.

Now finally here are some more birdies for Mr Bertie, obviously the Penguins also count.

Not sure what, saw it at the Cemetary

We are here for a few nights then off to Puerto Natales in Chile, the passport is getting fuller!

Cheers Will x
